Boudicca's revolt had driven the Romans out of Britain. Basically, a free Britain would have helped drive the Romans out of Gaul, weakening Roman influence in Europe. Also, a Britain that hadn't spent four hundred years under Roman protection would have been strong enough to resist the English invasions of the 5th century, and the same with the Gaulish tribes against the Franks. The programme ended with the rise of Islam but no Charlemagne or Frankish Holy Roman Empire to stop them, and Boudicca's statue ends up overlooking not the House of Parliament but a minaret!<br /><br />I've looked up your book on Amazon, and although I can't understand how ending up in modern London would inspire anyone to fight for anything, I'll definitely keep it in mind the next time I order more books.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
